MENTAL performance

Elite athletes and teams know that strengthening your physical abilities alone is not enough to unlock your full potential since much of how you perform is affected by what/how you think, feel, and how you respond to situations. Consistently great performance requires BOTH psychological fitness and well-honed mental game skills.

Mental Game Skills: First an athlete needs to have the mental skills to manage competition anxiety, overcome setbacks and self-doubt as well as stay focused, confident, and motivated. Unaddressed mental barriers prevent the athlete from being able to deliver their optimum performance.

Psychological Fitness: In a consistently high stress and intense pressure environment, an elite athlete may also experience depression, anxiety, eating disorder, panic disorder, burnout, trauma, and/or other mental health issues. In order to maintain peak performance or even remain an elite competitor, it is critical for the athlete to gain the help and skills needed to overcome or manage these difficulties, deal with life’s challenges, heal, and ultimately stay healthy, resilient, and mentally fit.

mental game ASSESSMENT

The AMAP mental game assessment will help you identify your mental game challenges, what mental game issues to look for, and how to start improving on those.

INDIVIDUALS

As an individual, your mental game specialist will work with you to go over your AMAP results, analyze them, and make a plan for improvement.

teams

For your group or team, each participant will complete the AMAP assessment on their own time. Results will be collected by your mental game specialist and the results will be prepared. These results will show the strengths and weaknesses of your team. After completing this, a development plan will be recommended. This plan may include group sessions on how to set goals or how to support your teammates. Each teams plan will be individualized based on their assessment results.

psychological FITNESS

The Youth Outcome Assessment will assess your psychological fitness. From this assessment we will work with you to address any issues that are a barrier to your performance.

Athletes are facing stressors that many others don't face, resulting in an increase in mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, stress, trauma and more.

Through the Sports Performance Lab, Insight offers assessments and support for various developmental and mental health disorders including ADHD, autism, oppositional defiance disorder, and others.

We not only offer assessments, we also offer regular counselling sessions or sports psychology session for you to check up on your mental health. We also offer support and solutions to parents and caregivers, providing them the tools to help support their children.
